Awkwafina
Awkwafina started out as an American rapper and singer, releasing sly tracks that tackled questions of race and sexuality with a humorous twist. In the years before she stepped into Hollywood, she was able to make a few songs. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese as well as Korean parents who hail from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was her first instrument. Jazz, classical and hip-hop studies began when she was in her teens. In the college years, she remained focused on her studies, and then majored both in women's study as well as journalism. In a short period of time, in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also offered. She turned her attention towards music after she finished her studies. After becoming famous via the Internet and her own My Vag song My Vag was a reaction to the song of Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually appeared on the album she released, Yellow Ranger. The album featured other viral hits like the body-positive Queef as well as the cheeky hometown tour NYC Bitche$. The track that was the last one to be linked directly to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide released in the year 2015. She opted to pursue acting as a profession after completing her first two projects, as an author and musician.
