Anamaria Marina is a Romanian actor. She won the British Academy Television Award Best Actress for her Channel 4 film Sex Traffic. She is fluent in French, German and English. Her mother was a violinist The father of her is a professor of theater at one of Romania's best drama schools. In 2000, the Romanian Young Actor Gala Mangalia awarded her the Best Female Actor Award of 2000. She was also named"a European Shooting Star' by the European Film Promotion Board. She won the British Academy Television Award Best Actress award for her performance in this film. Alongside her impressive performance in her first film The actress will also always be remembered by her role in the Romanian Arts Film 4 months three weeks and two days, which won her many distinctions including an award called the European Film Award of Best Actress from the London Film Critics. In 2007, she starred in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 saptamani si 2 zile (4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days) produced by Cristian Mungiu. The film was awarded the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and two other awards (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System and the FIPRESCI prize). Also, she was in the Francis Ford Coppola film Youth Without Youth. In 2008 she was a character in the film Yasim Anwar in BBC mini-series The Last Enemy. Marinca was a part of Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven and the Romanian drama Boogie. In the movie Fury (2014), she performed the role of Irma, a German woman, who played Emma's aunt.
