When she appeared in the July 2003 issue of Vanity Fair, she was called one of the year's hot teen celebrity stars. In 2004 Vega recorded two films: Sleepover, and State's Evidence. In 2005 she made her debut in the Lifetime television film Odd Girl Out, as the victim of cyberbullying. In 2006 she played in a second TV-made film, Walkout; and finished filming Remember the Daze, which was released in limited theaters in April 2007. Repo was her final film. The Genetic Opera was released in 2008 Aram Rappaport wrote and directed Helix in Chicago. The production began the month of March in 2008. Her initial role was in this year's Robert Rodriguez film Shorts, however, because of her being living in Australia for filming Broken Hill, she had been recast. The actress was replaced by Kat Dennings. She was a part of Broadway in Hairspray, as Penny. She appeared in the 2009 film as she was Ruby Gallagher on the ABC Family TV sitcom Ruby & the Rockits, which also starred Patrick and David Cassidy. Vega is Wick, a character in The Devil's Carnival from 2012 directed by Darren Lynn Bousman. Screenwriter Terrance Zudunich worked previously with Vega in the form of Repo! The Genetic Opera. Vega appeared in The Pregnancy Project on Lifetime Channel and finished her animated film The Clockwork Girl. The film of Vega, The Mine, which was produced in 2010 saw screenings and a release with a limit. Vega also voiced Christina in the animated show Unsupervised as well as a guest part in Royal Pains.
